Summer festival is officially started in Kodaikanal, it has been decided by the district adminstration to conduct the summer festival for 10days as well as flower show for 2days at Bryant park. Apart from these Dog show, Decorative boat procession, Catch-a-fish competition are also to be conducted during the summer festival. Earlier the district adminstration had planned to conduct the show on May 16 but the plan was called off by the minister because he had a very short time to inaugurate the summer festival both in Ooty and Kodaikanal. After the prolonged disccussion and meetings with the higher officials and ministers, the district administration finalised the plan. Three ministers and secretaries and commissioners of tourism, horiculture and agriculture were invited to attend the summer festival. Sports and track and field events and cultural programmers will be held on all festival days. There is also a special program for women is also likely to be held.
